Happy Memorial Day!

We’re halfway through the year. Perfect time for R&R - or you may have extra time for a little mid-year money check-in. 💰

5 simple tax tips for LLC’s + S-corps (that I personally use in my own business):

1️⃣ Spend before year-end.
Buying a new laptop, retreat ticket, or legal documents before December 31 can help reduce your taxable income.

2️⃣ Track ALL business expenses.
Software subscriptions, mileage, office supplies, meals, etc - they add up fast.

3️⃣ Have regular “Money Dates.” ✨
(One of my favorite practices from Kate Northrup.)
Once a month, light a candle, review your income + expenses, and check your numbers.

4️⃣ Use the Augusta Rule 🏡
Host a VIP Day or team meeting at your home and have your business rent the space from you. (Consult an accountant to set this up correctly.)

5️⃣ Use financial tools that simplify everything.
Apps that track spending, cash flow, and tax prep can save time + energy. (see link in the comments for my fave money app.)

Taxes don’t have to feel scary or overwhelming. Planning now can create so much more ease later. 💛

Free workshops are a great teaching tool…
…but you need legal protection when you offer them.

Here are 3 simple ways to protect yourself:

1. Start with a loving disclaimer (set the tone + create clarity)
2. Add a mini-disclaimer to your opt-in page (build trust from the start)
3. Have a Privacy Policy on your website (this one’s a must!)

When you’re legally supported, everything feels lighter.
You get to exhale… and focus on serving.

The other day a client sent me a waiver she created with AI for her Costa Rican retreat and asked me to review it.

When I opened it… I was SHOCKED.

It had 2 sentences about the overnight portion. That’s it. 😳

No language about:
🐢 excursions (like boating out to see sea turtles)
🍤 food + potential allergies
🧘 transportation, lodging, or daily activities

She had NO idea it didn’t actually protect her.

If someone got hurt, sick, or had a reaction to food?
She would’ve had zero coverage.

🚫 Generic legal language from AI doesn’t cut it for your retreat agreement.

Let me say this with so much love:
✨ AI is amazing… but it is NOT a lawyer.

Here are 3 big reasons why using AI for legal can hurt you:
1️⃣ It’s not accurate (yet)
AI often uses language that sounds legit - but actually weakens your protection.
2️⃣ It leaves dangerous gaps
It can’t tell what’s generic vs. what YOU specifically need.
3️⃣ It doesn’t understand your work
As a coach, practitioner, healer, or retreat host, your work is nuanced. AI misses that.
