One year ago this week, WBSM radio host Chris McCarthy was diagnosed with COVID-19, and last night I joined Chris and the New Bedford community as we rallied around supporting his continued recovery. Anyone who's been on the other side of the microphone with Chris knows he's a fighter, and his battle with COVID has been no different - and to Chris's credit, he's been open and frank with the public about what COVID has taken from him - his kidney and spleen function, paralysis on his left side from multiple strokes, damage to his vocal cords, and most recently, his deteriorating vision. Chris's story is a stark reminder that every case of COVID is different, and even with decreasing cases, it is still so vitally important that we remain vigilant and get vaccinated.
