Memorial Day is not about barbecues, sales, or an extra day off.

It is about remembering the men and women who gave everything in service to this country. The ones who never made it home. The ones whose loss is still carried every day by families, friends, and fellow servicemembers.

For many veterans and service members, Memorial Day is not necessarily a celebration. It is a day of reflection, remembrance, and mourning for friends, brothers, and sisters in arms who are no longer here.

I was privileged enough to serve alongside incredible servicemembers and fortunate enough to still be here to remember those who are not.

Today, we honor their sacrifice, remember their names, and recognize the true cost of the freedoms we often take for granted.

Most business owners have contracts… or think they do.

The problem is, many aren’t structured properly or don’t actually protect you when something goes wrong.

When a dispute hits, that’s when it matters.
Not when you sign it… but when you have to enforce it.

A lawsuit might get you a judgment.
But a judgment is just a court-backed IOU.

If you want real leverage, your contracts need to be clear, enforceable, and aligned with how your business actually operates.

And if your goal is to get paid without burning time and money in court, there are often better strategies.

Most people think winning a lawsuit means getting paid. It doesn’t.
A judgment is just a court-backed IOU. Collection is a completely separate fight.

Clear contracts, proper pre-suit strategy, and knowing when to push for settlement can make the difference between actually getting paid and chasing money for years.

Sometimes the best outcome isn’t winning in court… it’s getting paid now.
