💧 New Maine law, and it's one every well owner should have on their radar.

Maine is taking a closer look at PFAS, often called "forever chemicals," in private well water, and the rules are changing for both landlords and home sellers right here on the coast. Swipe through for the quick version 👉

Here's what's new under LD 493:

✅ Landlords with private wells will need to test for PFAS by January 1, 2027, and then every 5 years after that.

✅ Sellers must disclose any well test that shows PFAS.

More than half of Maine homes rely on a private well, so this touches a lot of us Downeast. The good news is that testing is simple, and knowing what's in your water is always better than wondering about it.

The paperwork is the smallest part of this job.

The real measure of a closing isn't the signatures — it's the text months later asking if I'm free for lunch.
