I have gotten several calls this week from the public about houses for sale posted on facebook websites and by other means of advertising. Did you know it is illegal in the State of Tennessee to participate in the sale of Real Estate without a Real Estate license? Apparently people just decide they want to sell Real Estate to the public but you CANNOT do that. No one except a licensed Real Estate Firm can receive money for selling Real Estate.
Real Estate Brokers didn’t just wake up and decide to sell Real Estate. We qualified by going to school and passing the exam. We also spend hours taking Continuing Education to renew our license, have Errors and Omissions Insurance and are responsible for everything we do. The Tennessee Real Estate Commission is about protecting the consumer. I will be posting more information on this Monday.
Also, there are many Quit Claim Deed scams going around. Don’t get caught up in this.
