Congratulations to Pete Alonso, recipient of the 2026 Oriole Way Award!
The Oriole Advocates were proud to present Pete with this year's award, which recognizes an Orioles player or coach for their contributions and achievements both on the field and in the community.
And it seems especially fitting this year.
Before his first season in Baltimore even began, Pete spoke about building a “New Oriole Way” — a commitment throughout the organization to playing winning baseball and doing things the right way.
He certainly embraced Baltimore in his first season.
Pete finished 2026 with 43 home runs and 113 RBIs, leading the American League in both categories, while also being unanimously selected as the Most Valuable Oriole. Off the field, Pete and his wife, Haley, made an immediate impact in our community, supporting organizations including BARCS and The Baltimore Station. He was also selected as the Orioles’ nominee for the Roberto Clemente Award.
The Oriole Way has always been about more than what happens between the lines. It’s about teamwork, commitment, community and representing Baltimore with pride.
Congratulations, Pete — and thank you for embracing Birdland and helping carry the Oriole Way forward!
Presenting the award is our president, Mary Jo Neville 🧡🖤
