Please join the Baltimore Banners at Patterson Park Ice Rink on Saturday, March 14th at 11:00am as they take on an adult team at the annual Rink Rally.

This year’s game is especially important as the city of Baltimore is planning to shut down Patterson Park rink after this season ends.

I have only been coaching with this organization for a short time, but I can tell you that the sport of hockey is special to these kids and this rink is the epicenter of it all. Patterson Park is critical to the Banners program and several other youth hockey programs.

What I love about the Banners is that this isn’t pay-to-play. The gear is provided. The ice is provided. The support is real. This program makes hockey accessible in a way that is rare anywhere, especially in an inner city setting.

I started playing hockey in my 20s, so I know firsthand how powerful this game can be. It teaches resilience, accountability, teamwork, and confidence. Imagine getting that while you’re young and still figuring life out.

That’s why saving this rink matters. It matters for the kids. It matters for families. It matters for the community. It matters for Baltimore.
