We are a group that is dedicated to enhancement of Kern County libraries through a properly funded system. As a grassroots movement, we are working with different groups and organizations to pass a county wide, fiscally responsible, measure supporting the library.

We lost, but we have no regrets in trying to do something positive for our community. Our thoughts are with the library as they navigate future budget cuts.

The future of Kern County library services looks grim after voters sharply rejected a one-eighth-cent sales tax to boost their budgets by $15 million a year. Measure F received just 50.69 percent support, far shy of the 66.6 percent required for passage.
