My Beef with the Beach.

The last time I was at the beach was in 2019. We had just walked through one of the most horrible and traumatic experiences of our life. One that demanded justice for one member of my family, another that had my husband contemplating choices that could have ended up with him being in prison. But that's another story.

I didn't realize I had beef with the beach.

There have been a couple opportunities to come over the last few years, and I haven't wanted to go. Which is ironic after living in Hawaii for five years and being at the beach almost daily.

Well, we came.

And here I was again, face to face with the waves, toes in the sand, watching the waves crash along the shore.

And I realized it was a painful place for me.

Being on the beach was actually really, really painful.

I couldn't wait. I was counting down the minutes till it was time to go.

I'm a big believer that the Lord can heal without bringing us back through traumatic circumstances. But I also believe sometimes He allows you to see things so you can face them head on.

Then day two, I started with prayer.

"All right, Lord, what is in my heart? Why is this a problem?"

The horrible family trauma we went through in 2019? We never got to see justice.

Things progressed to the courts, but then COVID shut down the entire world. And we became a court case on a long docket.

Nothing ever came of it.

I actually had to remind myself that I have surrendered this situation to the Lord.

Sometimes we go through things in our life where we don't see justice. We know that we're in the right, or we know that we were the victim of something.

God is a God of justice, and I believe that He wants justice in every situation.

But I believe He wants surrender from us even more.

And so, as I sit here this morning, I'm just reminding myself that instead of justice or revenge, I've chosen surrender.

And I'm so thankful to the Lord for bringing me back to this spot as a reminder to continue to surrender, even when I don't understand, and to continue to forgive, even when it's hard, no matter what was done to me or my family.

The most important moment of his day… and he doesn’t even know it.

He’s three years old, my grandson. He’ll be four in two months. Tonight he’s standing in front of a poster, repeating truth over his life before bed.

One thing his mom did right: she started early.

She read him the Bible. She made God’s Word normal in their home. She got him a poster filled with truth and scripture underneath it, and now at three years old, he’s already hiding the Word in his heart.

Before he can fully read, truth is reading him.
Before the world tries to label him, heaven is already naming him.
Before life gets loud, his spirit is already being fed.

Don’t skip this part.

Get the Word in them daily.
Speak life over them daily.
Feed their spirit daily.

They are never too young.

There is no junior Holy Spirit.

What you plant in childhood can carry them for a lifetime. 🌱

This is one of my favorite quotes of all time.

When someone experiences the fire of God, the power of God, the love of God in a real and tangible way, it marks them forever. You can see it in their eyes. You can feel the shift. Something comes alive that can never go back to sleep.

This past week, I watched children meet Jesus in a way that was real to them. Not borrowed from someone else. Not manufactured. Not emotional hype. Genuine encounter. I watched walls come down, hearts open wide, tears fall, joy erupt, and little lives forever changed by the presence of God.

And once someone has tasted what is real, counterfeit will never do. Once you’ve encountered His love, empty substitutes lose their grip. Once you’ve felt His power, religion without presence can never be enough.

True encounters with Jesus change you forever. The person who has truly met Him cannot remain the same.

Friends, there is an urgency. Jesus is coming back soon. There are people all around us who have never truly known Him, never felt His love, never heard truth spoken with power. They are waiting on the body of Christ to rise up, to remember who we are, and to speak boldly.

Someone today is waiting on your yes.
Someone today is waiting on your obedience.
Someone today is waiting on you to lead them to freedom.

At the beginning of this year, I was blessed with three incredibly intentional and meaningful gifts, and I’ve been waiting to share them until the last one was finished 🎁

My dear friends and gifted me a custom Nike shoe design session, and with Joey's expertise I created a pair of Dunks that perfectly match my Impact Kids shirt 👟

For my birthday, my incredible friend and coworker Tasha gave me the John Maxwell Leadership Bible I’ve wanted for years, even having my name embossed on the front 📖

And my girl gifted me a one of a kind custom jacket by made from vintage denim and completely reimagined into something so special 🧥 Literally the most comfortable jacket I have ever worn.

What amazes me most is how prophetic each of these gifts feels.

When I received the jacket, I was reminded that I am covered and deeply loved 🤍

The Bible represents a new season of going on fresh adventures in His Word and being armed and equipped in a deeper way 🔥

And the shoes, which have always symbolized new seasons for me, feel like a declaration of taking new ground. I had them customized by with prophetic words and details that carry so much meaning, including 1 Timothy 4:12, "it's the beginning of the beginning" a special prophetic word as we stepped into this new role last year and my absolute favorite, “there is no junior Holy Spirit” ✨

you absolutely blew my mind with your talent and creativity. I could not love these more. Thank you 😭

I’m honestly in awe of the Lord’s kindness and the way He speaks so personally through the people around us. I feel so seen, know, and loved by Him. Thank you friends, for these precious gifts. You have no idea how much they truly mean 🫶

So excited to step into this Sunday and into new ground with these on my feet. LET'S GOOOOO 👟🔥

From the top of my lungs, screaming Happy Birthday to this guy right here. The best Huz, Girl Dad and Pop around. You literally spend your life taking care of those you love. I have never met a man who works harder. Thank you for letting us be safe with you.

I love watching you minister to kids. It's the hardest job we have ever had but I know lives are changed because of it. You bring my crazy ideas to life even better than I imagined. Joy Story last year absolutely blew my mind. So many kids felt important and seen. YOU did that.

This is your year. I know it started off like a jet plane with and empty fuel tank and broken landing gear 😆 but take two is starting so get ready. This is YOUR year. Believing with you for restoration of what was stolen and those dreams you have held close and quiet, to finally be fulfilled.

Love you BIG my best friend, boo, baby daddy, ride or die, Clue buddy, nap partner, foodie, servant, friend. You are everything.
