We focus on Chapter 7 and 13 cases and are dedicated to helping our clients improve their financial situation and get a fresh start. Prior bankruptcy experience is required.

👉 Responsibilities:
Represent clients in consumer Chapter 7 and 13 bankruptcy cases
Manage Chapter 13 confirmation calendar
Working with clients to assess their financial situation and eligibility for bankruptcy
Prepare and file bankruptcy petitions and related documents
Attend court hearings, including 341 meetings and confirmation hearings
Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
Stay up-to-date on changes in bankruptcy law and regulations
Participate in ongoing training and professional development

👉 Qualifications:
J.D. degree from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice law in Georgia
Proficient with remote work applications and ability to adapt to new technology quickly
Passionate about helping people and making a positive impact on their lives

Since the pandemic, our courts here in the Northern District of Georgia have been conducting 341 hearings telephonically.

The United States Trustee Program is preparing to implement virtual section 341 meetings of creditors for cases filed under chapter 7, 12, or 13 in the Northern District of Georgia on or after October 2, 2023.

👉When you receive your hearing notice you will now see passcode for your Zoom meeting and the meeting code.

👉Make sure you are properly dressed (you don't have to be in a suit but you need to be dressed conservatively).

👉You also need to be in a quiet place and ALONE on your call (Unless you filed a joint case with your spouse).

Your attorney will also be on the call with you but if you have questions about ANYTHING you need to go over these a few days BEFORE

If you are thinking of filing bankruptcy get your taxes filed! A chapter 13 case will not get approved unless you are current on all required returns. Alyssa Maloof Whatley does a great job of explaining this in the video below.
