Is your lawyer charging you $4,000.00 per hour?

Nate reviewed the billing records from an opposing counsel's office, and found that the attorney was billing in ten-minute increments. So a ten-minute phone call would be ten minutes on the bill, but so would a five-minute phone call or a two-minute phone call.

If your attorney bills at $400.00 per hour, but answers an e-mail in one minute and bills you for ten minutes, your attorney has effectively charged you $4,000.00 per hour to answer your e-mail.

At Smith & Little, we do not round up to the nearest three, six, or ten minutes. If answering an e-mail or phone call takes one or two minutes, our clients are billed for those one or two minutes, and no more. We never double or triple our fees by doubling or tripling the time we bill.

How much is your lawyer really charging you? Is your lawyer worth three or four thousand dollars per hour? Demand fairness in legal billing. Demand your attorney treat you as well as Smith & Little treats its clients. You deserve that level of respect, fairness, and honesty.
