The rights of a victim in a criminal case include the rights to;
🔹file a complaint to initiate prosecution,
🔹join as a co-plaintiff or file the case independently,
🔹be informed of the progress and outcome of the case,
🔹oppose the release/bail of the accused,
🔹claim compensation, and
🔹receive an justice fund from Thai Goverment such as medical expenses, loss of earning according to Compensation for Injured Persons and Reimbursement of Expenses for Defendants in Criminal Cases Act, B.E. 2544 (2001)”
These rights are protected under the Constitution of the Kingdom of Thailand, B.E. 2560 (2017), the Criminal Procedure Code and other relevant laws to ensure that victims receive justice and relief from the harm suffered.
