3. Sentences and Penalties
Suspended Sentence: The student was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment and a 100,000 RWF fine, but the sentence is suspended for 1 year.
What this means: The student does not have to go to prison right now. As long as they maintain good conduct and do not break the law during the 1-year suspension period, they will serve no prison time.
