Spent my afternoon going around the Jalan Batu estate for our regular house visits and catching up with residents.

As we are currently in the peak dengue period, let us continue doing our part to keep our homes and surroundings mosquito-free. Thankfully, the Wolbachia Project has been keeping the situation well under control so far, but we should still remain cautious by clearing stagnant water and keeping our environment clean.

At the same time, feeding pigeons is an offence. Throwing food down from high floors also constitutes high-rise littering, which is another offence. Beyond the penalties, leftover food attracts pests and creates hygiene issues for the community.

Let us all continue working together to keep our estate safe, clean and pleasant for everyone. Thank you to all residents who took the time to chat and share your feedback with us.

Had a wonderful afternoon over the weekend with residents at Aalto for the Pool Carnival.

Even though it was the start of the school holidays, it was heartening to see many residents and families coming together to enjoy the pool activities organised by Meyer RN.

I especially enjoyed joining the little ones at the game booths, especially the classic game of hitting the cans, which brought back fond memories of the traditional games many of us grew up playing.

A big thank you to Meyer RN, our dedicated volunteers and all residents who joined us. Events like these help bring neighbours together, foster new friendships and strengthen the kampung spirit that makes our community so special.

Looking forward to seeing everyone again at our next community event!

Wishing a peaceful and blessed Vesak Day to all our Buddhist friends in Mountbatten!

Vesak Day is an opportunity for quiet reflection and celebration of the universal values of peace, compassion, and wisdom. It reminds us of the importance of inner calm and the power of extending kindness to others, principles that are at the very heart of our community.

However you choose to spend the day, may your hearts be filled with light and joy.

I joined fellow Pine Close Grassroots Volunteers for a house visit at Cassia Crescent, where we had the opportunity to connect with many residents from different backgrounds and age groups.

One of the most memorable encounters for me was meeting a young resident with a keen interest in insects. He shared proudly about the ants and praying mantis he has been keeping. I was truly amazed by his passion and knowledge at such a young age!

I also met a resident who warmly invited me to visit his stall, Western Barbecue, located at our Old Airport Hawker Centre. Our hawker centre truly offer so many delicious food options, especially for foodies like myself!

Looking forward to visiting the stall soon with my children to enjoy the food and support our local hawkers!

Selamat Hari Raya Haji to our Muslim residents!

Hari Raya Haji is about the spirit of sacrifice and the beauty of sharing what we have with the less fortunate. It is a time to pause, give thanks, and strengthen the bonds of family and friendship.

Wishing you and your families a deeply meaningful celebration filled with warmth and wonderful company.

I am thrilled to share that over 80% of residents in each of Blocks 28, 30, 56 Cassia Crescent and 9 Pine Close voted in favour of the Home Improvement Programme (HIP) with EASE! This means the much-anticipated upgrading works can officially proceed.

Works are expected to begin in Q3 of this year. Works for each individual unit should take no more than 10 days to complete. HDB will be providing you with more detailed schedules closer to the start date so that you can plan ahead.

HDB has also put up the gazetted copy of the polling results at your lift lobbies. I highly encourage you to view the mock-up flat and select your preferred options. Once you are ready, you can submit your option form to the e-opting office at Block 9 Pine Close.

A huge thank you to everyone who came down to cast your vote! By supporting this, you are helping to create a safer, more comfortable, and senior-friendly environment for our wider community.

I also want to express my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated grassroots leaders and volunteers who worked tirelessly over the polling weekend to answer queries and assist residents.

If you have any immediate questions, please feel free to reach out to the HIP Information Centre at 1800-2352785.

You may have seen these chaps at work recently, and perhaps the Town Council notices about them coming around too.

We're in the inter-monsoon period. Hot and wet weather creates ideal conditions for mozzies to breed. In fact, NEA recently advised that we are in the peak mosquito and dengue season.

The good news is that there are currently ZERO dengue clusters in Mountbatten. We are one of the pioneers of Project Wolbachia and I believe it is bearing fruit. I hope we can keep it this way.

That said, biting mozzies have been causing stress to residents in parts of our community.

I am working with the Town Council and agency partners to do what we can, stepping up fogging operations, inspections, and cleaning of public areas.

But that is only half the battle. The other half requires collective action.

All of us have a part to play. A small effort from each household to prevent mozzies from breeding goes a long way in protecting everyone in the neighbourhood.

Let's work together to keep Mountbatten mozzie-free.

Had a wonderful time at the Mountbatten Seniors’ Festival 2026!

It was heartening to see so many seniors coming together to enjoy the wide range of activities, performances, food, and community booths prepared specially for them.

Seniors also had the opportunity to purchase exciting activities at highly discounted rates, including the popular river cruise!

A big thank you to all our partners and volunteers who made the festival possible. We were glad to have support from organisations such as SingHealth, who conducted rapid health screenings, and the Silver Generation Office, who engaged seniors through wellness questionnaires and conversations.

Most importantly, it was wonderful seeing our seniors laughing, participating, and spending quality time with friends and neighbours. I’m sure our seniors had as much fun as I did!

I look forward to joining everyone again at the upcoming activities lined up as part of the festival. See you there!
