Is the time counting certificate issued by AIMA mandatory in my case of nationality?

1. No! The time count certificate is important when there are doubts about your residence time.
2. In the past, this certificate was used as evidence in citizenship processes under article 6, no. 1 (for length of residence). However, currently, even if you attach the aforementioned certificate, the Notary’s Office will request information directly from AIMA.
3. Therefore, you can add the document to your file, but the aforementioned information will be confirmed by the Registry.
4. What if I don’t put this in the file? There is no problem, as the information will be requested by the Registrar’s Office from AIMA and that entity will receive the information back.
5. Therefore, it is a non-essential document, but valid if there is doubt about the length of residence.
6. How to apply? Send an email to [email protected] with a copy of your residence permit, passport and the application form (available on the AIMA website) and ask for an appointment to request the aforementioned certificate. Wait for the appointment to be sent and show up. On the day of scheduling, present the same documentation (in original form) and pay the issuance fee. The certificate will be sent to your home.
