Maritime Update :
It is a matter of pride and relief that our letter has been addressed by PM Pakistan. Wages worth $300,000/- of seafarers including a Pakistani from MT Iba, 'ship beached in UAE' for last 4 years have been paid as per the correspondence from DG Ports and Shipping Karachi. We are in contact with CWA Consul General II UAE for safe repatriation of Pakistani after other clearances.

Islands helps to maintain balance in the marine environment and develop the marine economy. They are strategic frontiers that safeguard maritime interests and national security. Recently, cabinet issued directives to counter against the ongoing propaganda against the Bundal and Buddu Island project. The agenda of the meeting was to put in place effective communication strategy to keep the masses informed about the short term and long term benefits of island development. Since the establishment of Pakistan Development Authority the development of the islands namely Bunddal and Buddu raised a storm of conflicting opinions. Instead of devising any constructive approach it spread the sense of deprivation amongst those living in the coastal areas in particular and population of the whole province in general. These two islands are located in the Arabian Sea off the Karachi coast, covered by the recently signed Pakistan Islands Development Authority (PIDA) Ordinance.
