🚨 Breaking Legal News 🚨
Pakistan’s National Assembly has passed the Criminal Law (Amendment) Bill, 2025, proposing the addition of Section 498D to the Pakistan Penal Code.

If this bill becomes law, it will criminalize the unlawful eviction of wives from their shared residence.

📜 Proposed Punishment:

Imprisonment: 3 to 6 months

Fine: Up to PKR 200,000

Or both imprisonment and fine

⚖ Key Points:

Offence will be bailable

Non-compoundable (cannot be withdrawn through private settlement)

Arrest only with warrant

Status: Proposed – Not yet enacted (awaiting Senate & Presidential approval)
