Our partner Zeeshaan Hashmi was interviewed by Pakistan's leading English language daily newspaper Dawn.com regarding aviation and environmental litigation he is conducting against the conversion of the Walton Aerodrome into a "Business District".

"Mr Hashmi... claims the provincial government cannot shift the aerodrome as aviation is regulated upon by the federal government. Furthermore, the provincial government did not consult the elected local governments on the issue. He said the law mandates that initial environmental examinations and EIAs be conducted before any housing or building construction projects are decided upon. These environmental requirements were not conducted leaving question marks on the legislation."

Our partner Zeeshaan Hashmi was invited by Asad Rahim Khan to his show Do Raaye on DawnNews to discuss his pilots licensing case which was decided by the Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court last week. The Chief Justice allowed the petition and set aside license cancellation orders of the Civil Aviation Authority. Moreover, a Board of Inquiry set up by the Secretary Aviation to look into the pilots licensing issue was declared to be illegally constituted.
