The irony is that the said state argues that such a ban would promote 'neutrality' in society. According to France, in order for different people to co-exist as a society, such a ban is mandatory.

France needs to understand that it's doing the exact opposite by bringing discriminatory policies which portray nothing but the rise of Islamophobia in European states!

Sixteen-year-old Mariem Chourak is a devout Muslim who considers wearing a hijab an expression of her devotion to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), but a proposal by French senators might soon deny her the freedom to do so in public spaces.

The amendment to an 'anti-separatism' bill designed to strengthen France's secular values and which applies to girls under 18 has drawn outrage and prompted an online protest under the hashtag ( ) that went viral beyond French borders.

“It's part of my identity. To force me to remove it would be a humiliation,” Chourak said. “I cannot understand why they would want to pass a law that discriminates.”

The place of religion and religious symbols worn in public is a long-running matter of controversy in France, a staunchly secular country and home to Europe's largest Muslim minority.

Ahh! Here we go again

Ruling PTI MPA Khurram Sohail Leghari has threatened Jatoi tehsil assistant commissioner during a telephone call, daring him to have a physical fight with him if he wants so.

The ugly incident took place when Leghari contacted the Jatoi AC Mohammad Arshad Virk and told him that he wanted to visit Ramazan Bazaar.

However, according to sources, during the call the battery of Virk’s mobile phone got depleted and his phone was powered off.

The sources said the AC, after a while, contacted the MPA and told him that because of the battery problem his phone went dead. But Leghari got annoyed and lashed out at Virk, saying he (the MPA) was a member of the price control committee and received complaints about shortage of food items at Ramazan bazaars.

Back in 2019 UK's home secretary, Preeti Patel was accused of politicizing civil servants and arguments for individual ministerial responsibility arose. Borris Johnson, PM of UK, came forward and clarified that civil servants are not to be pressurized or bullied by government ministers in any way whatsoever.
Civil servants are not to be thrown shade at publicly. If a special assistant to PM fails to accord respect to such officials and institutions, what would others do?
Not to mention a government governs a state for 5 years whilst a civil servant (generally) serves the state for 30-35 years i.e. a civil servant owes his duties to the state without any biasness to the government or any other political party as many governments come and go in a civil servant's tenure.

Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister (SACM) Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has claimed that people are "colouring" the Sialkot incident — in which she humiliated a female assistant commissioner in public during a visit to a Ramazan Bazaar — to "create conflict between government officials and public representatives".

Addressing a press conference in Lahore, Awan disclosed that she decided to approach Prime Minister Imran Khan and Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for advice on how to handle the controversy.

She said she visited the bazaar to "fight for the people and not for a specific family", adding that the people, who were "trying to colour the incident according to their own [interests]" instead of sympathising with the public in order to create a conflict between the bureaucracy and the government, would be disappointed.

Awan further said that the prime minister and chief minister had taken notice of the "chaos, substandard products and exploitation of people" in the Ramazan Bazaars.
