Today, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed.
Kofi Annan, said, “poverty is a denial of human rights”
According to world bank 734 million people, are living in extreme poverty. According to Oxfam report "Survival of the richest" only 1% of the elites hav 50% global wealth.Therefore, concentration of wealth in the hands of a few exacerbates income inequality and hinders equitable distribution of resources. This imbalance further widens the gap between the rich and the poor, making it difficult to address poverty effectively. Pakistan, poverty remains a significant challenge, with a large portion of the population living below the poverty line
Article 38 of the Constitution, titled "Promotion of Social and Economic Well-being," emphasizes the state's responsibility to promote the well-being of its people by providing social and economic justice, ensuring the equitable distribution of resources, and minimizing the concentration of wealth.Additionally, Article 37 outlines the principles of policy that guide the state in promoting social justice and improving the standard of living of its citizens. Furthermore, the Constitution establishes the Council of Common Interests (CCI) in Article 153, which is responsible for formulating and regulating policies related to economic and social development, including poverty alleviation.As poverty eradication is a complex and multifaceted issue that requires a holistic approach involving not only legal measures but also economic policies, social programs, and inclusive development strategies.

Police thuggery and hooliganism are not limited to this incident alone. I firmly stand in solidarity with my community. In recent days, numerous individuals have been stepping forward to share their own personal encounters. I urge everyone to come forward and shed light on how the police have been treating the general public. It is imperative that we launch an online campaign against the rampant abuse of power by the police. The events of the past few months have been overwhelming and difficult to comprehend.

‘مالٹا کا رقبہ صرف 315 مربع کلومیٹر اور آبادی چار لاکھ 29 ہزار ہے

یوں یہ یورپ کے مختصر لیکن خوبصورت ترین ممالک میں شمار ہوتا ہے‘

یہ ملک یورپ میں ہونے کے باوجود پاکستان کے ساتھ ایک دلچسپ رشتے میں بندھاہوا ہے‘ یہ رشتہ آپ کو بھی حیران کر دے گا‘

مالٹا نے 1971ء میں اپنی ائیر لائین بنانے کا فیصلہ کیا‘ البرٹ میزی کو منصوبے کا چیئرمین بنایا گیا‘ میزی نے سول ایوی ایشن اور ائیر لائین تشکیل دینی تھی‘ انٹرنیشنل ٹینڈر ہوا۔

ہماری پی آئی اے ایشیا کی سب سے بڑی اور کامیاب ائیر لائین تھی‘ پی آئی اے نے ٹینڈر بھر دیا‘

مالٹا کو یورپ‘ مشرق بعید اور امریکا کی کمپنیوں کی طرف سے بھی کاغذات موصول ہوئے تھے

*بورڈ نے پڑتال کی امریکا یورپ اور مشرق بعید کے ٹینڈرز مسترد کیے اور پی آئی اے کو سلیکٹ کر لیا‘*

پی آئی اے نے مالٹا کے ساتھ ائیر لائین پارٹنر شپ کی اور صرف ایک سال میں ائیر مالٹا کے نام سے یورپ میں ایک شاندار ائیر لائین کھڑی کر دی‘

*ائیر مالٹا 31مارچ 1973ء کو بنی اور پی آئی اے نے یکم اپریل 1974ء کو اس کا پہلا طیارہ ٹیک آف کرا دیا۔*

پاکستانی ماہرین نے اس ایک برس میں مالٹا کی سول ایوی ایشن بنائی‘ ائیرپورٹس کو یورپین لُک دی اور ائیر لائین کو بھی آپریشنل کر دیا

آج ائیر مالٹا یورپ کی کامیاب اور منافع بخش ائیر لائینز میں شامل ہے یہ یورپ افریقہ اور امریکا کو بھی کور کرتی ہے اور اس کی فلائیٹس مشرق بعید بھی جاتی ہیں‘

*ائیر مالٹا کو 49 برس ہو چکے ہیں‘ مالٹا کے لوگوں نے ان 49 برسوں میں پی آئی اے کا احسان یاد رکھا‘*

مالٹا دنیا کا واحد ملک ہے جس نے پی آئی اے کو اپنے تعلیمی سلیبس میں شامل کر رکھا ہے

*یہ لوگ آج بھی ساتویں جماعت کے بچوں کو پی آئی اے کی مہربانی پڑھاتے ہیں اور مالٹا کے بچے پی آئی اے پر مضمون لکھ کر آٹھویں جماعت میں جاتے ہیں۔*

یہ اس پرانے زمانے کی بات ہے جب پی آئی اے نے پوری دنیا کو حیران کردیا تھا

ہماری قومی ائیر لائین نے اس گولڈن دور میں بے شمار کمالات کیے

اس نے ائیر مالٹا کی طرح سنگا پور ائیر لائین بنائی‘ کوریا کو سول ایوی ایشن اور ائیر لائین بنانے میں مدد دی‘ ملائشین ائیر لائین بنائی اور ایمریٹس کی بنیاد رکھی‘ یہ بات آج کے زمانے میں شیخی محسوس ہوتی ہے

کہ ہم نے ایمریٹس کو کرائے پر جہاز بھی دیے تھے اور پائلٹ اور ائیر ہوسٹس بھی‘

ہم نے دنیا کی پانچ بڑی ائیر لائینز کے عملے کو ٹریننگ بھی دی تھی‘

آپ کو یہ بات بھی عجیب لگے گی کراچی کبھی ایشیا کا دروازہ ہوتا تھا

ایشیا کے 80فیصد مسافر کراچی سے ہو کر یورپ‘ افریقہ اور امریکا جاتے تھے اور یورپ‘ افریقہ اور امریکا کے مسافر بھی ایشیا میں داخل ہونے سے پہلے کراچی میں اترتے تھے

Whether it be the machinations of external or internal culprits in a nefarious terrorist attack, it is imperative for the state to adopt resolute measures. The fortification of the porous border region of Afghanistan should be prioritized, bolstering intelligence capabilities to preemptively apprehend any foreign operatives before untoward events unfold. Right to access to Information is a fundamental human right, and in Pakistan, this right is protected under Article 19-A of the Constitution which ensures that every citizen shall have the right to access information in all matters of "public importance"
To further strengthen this right, the "Right of Access to Information Act 2017" was enacted. This law ensures transparency and accountability by giving individuals the power to seek information from public bodies. It promotes open governance and empowers citizens to actively participate in decision-making processes.
Under this act, any person can file an information request with a public body, seeking details about government policies, decisions, and actions. The public bodies are legally obligated to respond to these requests within a specific timeframe. 28th September declared as International Day for Universal Access to Information by United Nations, the spirit behind that citizens must know how they are governed, so they can hold their governments accountable for the decisions and actions. w
