2026 CLC 12 | Annual Increase in Maintenance = Compound Basis
Under Section 17-A(3) of the Family Courts Act, 1964, the 10% annual increase in maintenance is to be calculated on a compound basis, not on the original basic amount.
📌 Example:
If maintenance is decreed at Rs. 5,000 per month:
Year 1 → 5,000
Year 2 → 5,500
Year 3 → 6,050
