**Statement Condemning the Brutal Attack on Mr. Amir Nawaz Waraich, President of Karachi Bar Association.***
I am deeply saddened and outraged by the recent brutal attack on Mr. Amir Nawaz Waraich, the esteemed President of the Karachi Bar Association. This heinous act of violence not only targets an individual but also strikes at the very heart of the legal community and undermines the rule of law in our society.
Mr. Waraich has long been a dedicated advocate for justice, representing the values of integrity, fairness, and respect for human rights. The attack on him is an attack on all those who strive for justice and equity in our legal system. It is unacceptable that any citizen, especially a public figure who serves as a beacon of hope for many, should be subjected to such acts of violence and intimidation.
We call upon the relevant authorities to take immediate and decisive action to:
1. **Ensure Justice:** Investigate this brutal attack thoroughly and hold the perpetrators accountable. It is imperative that those responsible are identified and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
2. **Enhance Security:** Provide necessary security measures for Mr. Waraich and all legal professionals who may be at risk. Their safety is paramount, and it is the duty of the state to ensure that they can perform their roles without fear of violence or reprisal.
3. **Promote Rule of Law:** Reinforce the commitment to upholding the rule of law in our country. Violence against legal professionals cannot be tolerated, and society must collectively stand against such acts that threaten our democratic values.
