Two senior Supreme Court judges resign in unprecedented protest.

Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah—who was set to become Pakistan's next Chief Justice before the 26th and 27th amendments—and Justice Athar Minallah have both resigned from the Supreme Court today, calling the 27th Constitutional Amendment a "grave assault" on judicial independence.

"The Constitution I swore to uphold and defend is no more," writes Justice Minallah.

489-F. Dishonestly issuing a cheque:
Whoever dishonestly issues a cheque towards repayment of a loan or fulfilment of an obligation which is dishonoured on presentation, shall be punished with imprisonment which may extend to three years or with fine, or with both, unless he can establish, for which the burden of proof shall rest on him, that he had made arrangements with his bank to ensure that the cheque would be honoured and that the bank was at fault in not honouring the cheque.

According to Sharia, the legal heirs that are blood relations have a
right to inherit from the property of the ancestor or a relative after their death. Chapter four of the Quran called Surah An-Nisa narrates the appropriate method that must be followed to determine the share in inheritance.
