Father:
Imam Muhammad al-Taqi al-Jawad (ع) the 9th Imam

Mother:
Lady Samana al-Maghribiyya a noble and pious woman

On the orders of the Abbasid caliph Al-Mutawakkil, Imam (ع) was forcibly moved from Madina to Samarra, where he spent much of his life under house arrest and strict surveillance.

Despite severe oppression, Imam (ع):
• Preserved the true teachings of Islam
• Spread knowledge, patience, and piety
• Guided his followers through trusted representatives (wakils)

During the rule of the Abbasid caliph Al-Mu‘tamid, Imam Ali an-Naqi al-Hadi (ع) was poisoned and martyred on 3rd Rajab 254 AH.

His blessed shrine is in Samarra, Iraq, beside his son
Imam Hasan al-Askari (ع) the 11th Imam.

یہاں تک کہ آپ کی کمر اور گردن سیاہ پڑ گئے
آپ کی آنکھیں غم و شدت سے سرخ پڑ گئیں
آپ کا بچہ مارڈالا
تمام مظالم سہنے کے باوجود آپ نے اپنے شوہر و امامِ وقت امیرالمؤمنین علیہ‌السلام کا دفاع اور ان کی نصرت سے ہاتھ نہ اٹھایا یہاں تک کہ ظالموں نے بھری جوانی میں آپ کو شہید کردیا۔
