سندھ کے ضلع شہداد کوٹ سے تعلق رکھنے والی سُمن بودانی ہندو برادری کی پہلی خاتون سول جج بن گئی ہیں۔ سمن بودانی نے جوڈیشل افسران کا امتحان پاس کیا اور میرٹ لسٹ میں 54 ویں نمبر پر آئیں، جس کے بعد انھیں سول جج و جوڈیشل مجسٹریٹ کے لیے اہل قرار دے دیا گیا۔

سُمن بودانی کا کہنا تھا کہ میرا تعلق سندھ کے انتہائی پسماندہ دیہی علاقے سے ہے اور میں نے وہاں بہت سے غریب لوگوں کو مختلف مسائل سے دوچار دیکھا اور وہ عدالتی اخراجات بھی برداشت نہیں کرسکتے اس لیے میں نے سوچا کہ میں وکالت میں جاؤں گی اور انہیں انصاف دلاؤں گی۔
سُمن بودانی نے انٹرمیڈیٹ تک تعلیم آبائی شہر سے ہی حاصل کی، حیدرآباد سے ایل ایل بی کیا اور زیبسٹ یونیورسٹی کراچی سے ایل ایل ایم کیا۔ ان کے والد پیشے کے لحاظ سے ڈاکٹر ہیں۔

سمن بودانی کا کہنا ہے کہ ان کی برادری اس فیصلے کے خلاف ہے اور وہ اس شعبے میں لڑکیوں کے کام کرنے کو پسند نہیں کرتے تاہم والد اور بہن بھائیوں کی مکمل مدد اور حمایت حاصل رہی میرے خاندان نے کسی کی بھی باتوں کی پروا نہیں کی اور مجھے اس مقام پر پہنچایا

PM's disqualification: Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC), on Monday ,rejected the plea for formation of larger bench regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s disqualification, Dunya News reported. Justice Jawad Khawaja said the chief justice has the authority to form a larger bench; therefore a separate petition should be filed. Court adjourned hearing till Thursday 2nd Oct.

Hearing of Appeal Filed With Supreme Court Under Article 10-D Of NAB Ordinance:

Supreme Court’s 3-member Bench, presided by the Chief Justice, upheld the Lahore High court’s decision when hearing the case appealed by NAB against Lahore High Court’s verdict wherein the latter had ruled that all such criminals sentenced as a result of cases brought about by NAB, were eligible for general pardon including Presidential Article 45.

Sardar lateef Khosa, senior advocate from Khosa Law Associates, participated in the hearing and NAB prosecutor general K.K.Agha and Additional Attorney general Saeed-ul-Zafar argued the case. Supreme Court bench held that Artcile 10-D of NAB Ordinance was against the provision of the constitution of Pakistan and that all such criminals sentenced in result of NAB cases were also eligible for General and Extraordinary pardons under Presidential Article 45 and other Provincial amendments and upheld the Lahore High Court’s verdict.

Hopefully this historic decision should bring relief for all accused suspects and sentenced criminals under cases opened and prosecuted by NAB.
