Founding Partner, Juwayni & Hakins, Mr. Qaiser Imam ASC, participated in the “National Dialogue on Improving Criminal Justice Responses to Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants in Pakistan,” organized by United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in collaboration with Research Society Of International Law (RSIL).

During the session, he shared his thoughts on strengthening prosecution mechanisms and integrating modern investigative and evidentiary techniques to enhance Pakistan’s criminal justice response to trafficking in persons and the smuggling of migrants. The discussion emphasized coordinated institutional efforts, capacity building, and the effective use of contemporary legal tools to ensure accountability and victim protection.

Senior Partner Juwyani & Hawkins, Mr. Qaiser Imam, Advocate Supreme Court, was invited as a Special Guest at the seminar titled “The Future of Law in Pakistan: From Colonial Roots to National Vision.”

The seminar gathered an esteemed panel of guests, including Justice Mushir Alam (Retd.), Former Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan; Dr. Zia ul Haq, Dean Faculty of Shariah and Law; and Dr. Aziz ur Rahman, Director, School of Law, Quaid-i-Azam University. The audience comprised students of law from the Department of Shariah and Law, faculty members, and legal professionals.

The discussion focused on tracing the transformation of Pakistan’s legal system from its colonial foundations towards a truly national and indigenous vision of justice.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the legal profession and his role in promoting advocacy and legal education, Mr. Qaiser Imam was presented with a Shield of Honour. He emphasized the importance of reforming legal education, empowering young lawyers, and aligning Pakistan’s legal development with its national values and aspirations.
