Who is responsible when something goes wrong?🤔

If everyone assumes someone else will handle it, the problem eventually belongs to everyone. We rarely ask the question above when everything is going well but once something goes wrong, everyone begins to point fingers and blame each other for it.

The problem is not always about someone failing to handle things. Nobody ever clearly took responsibility in the first place! There is wisdom in knowing who is accountable for official documents or responsibilities because good systems should not depend on assumptions.

Whether it is a family matter, a workplace task or something involving other people's money or property, responsibility should be clear.

“Akala mo alam mo.” One person thought the other person understood and the other person thought it was obvious. Nobody actually said it clearly.

That’s how misunderstandings arrive in our lives! This happens at home, at work, in business and even among people who have known each other for years. We sometimes assume that because something is clear to us, it must also be clear to everyone else. It is not. So when assumptions are made, face it bravely. Say what needs to be said, set expectations early, and do not make people guess what you meant.

Being clear at the beginning can save everyone from a much longer conversation later.

“Am I solving the problem or am I reacting to how I feel about it?”
There is strength in knowing when something deserves your attention and when it needs a calm response.

Not every disagreement needs to become a fight, every mistake needs to become a grudge or every inconvenience needs to become a crisis. A peaceful week does not mean nothing goes wrong. It means we learned not to make every wrong thing bigger than it needs to be.

Funny how we suddenly become very careful when we're buying something expensive. We ask questions when money is involved because we understand that trust doesn't mean we stop being careful. The same can be true in other parts of life. Being cautious doesn't mean you don't trust people, it means you understand the value of what you're putting at stake.

We may hate to admit it but most of the time, we are used to being the one taking or assuming responsibilities. We might even say, “Ako na bahala.”

Guilty? Maganda kung maaasahan kang tao pero may point din na kailangan mong itanong sa sarili mo, “Responsibilidad ko ba talaga to o sanay lang akong ako lagi gumagawa?”

Hindi lahat ng kaya mong gawin ay kailangang ikaw ang gumawa. May mga bagay na dapat pinaghahatian, mga problemang dapat pinagtutulungan at may mga responsibilidad na hindi dapat tahimik na ipinapasa sa taong laging gustong sumalo.

Being responsible doesn't mean carrying everything alone. Sometimes, being responsible also means knowing what is yours to carry and what isn't.

Two words that have convinced many Filipinos to keep things they should have let go of. Even though some things are not practical anymore, we still keep them physically, emotionally or mentally.

There is a difference between valuing what we have and being afraid to let go because we already invested so much. Hindi porke't marami ka nang nailabas, kailangan mo pang dagdagan. Sometimes, protecting what remains is wiser than trying to recover everything that was already lost.

“Hindi lahat ng mabilis, magandang desisyon.”
Tonight made me realize that Monday has a way of making us feel like everything needs to happen NOW. But I think the smartest move to make when this happens is to say, “Pag-isipan ko muna.”

By doing this, it means you understand that some decisions carry consequences long after the Monday rush is gone. Sa trabaho, sa pera, sa pamilya, at kahit sa simpleng commitments, hindi lahat ng opportunity kailangang sagutin agad. A good decision is not always the fastest one.
