𝗗𝗢𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗘 𝗝𝗘𝗢𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗗𝗬

𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗜𝗜𝗜, 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮𝟭 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀:

"No person shall be twice put in jeopardy of punishment for the same offense. If an act is punished by a law and an ordinance, conviction or acquittal under either shall constitute a bar to another prosecution for the same act."

In addition, Section 7, Rule 117 of the Rules of Court, along with the constitutional provisions, establishes the procedural guidelines and protections against double jeopardy in the Philippines. It ensures that individuals cannot be subjected to repeated prosecutions for the same offense, thereby upholding their right to protection against double jeopardy.
