Barangay Basud actively participated in the 1st Quarter Simultaneous Nationwide Earthquake Drill as part of the continuous effort to strengthen disaster preparedness and promote safety awareness in our community.

This activity aims to educate residents on the proper actions to take during an earthquake and to ensure that everyone is prepared in case of a real emergency. Participants practiced the proper safety procedure "Duck, Cover, and Hold”, which is an important life-saving action during earthquakes.

The conduct and participation in earthquake drills are also in line with Republic Act No. 10121, which promotes disaster preparedness and encourages government agencies, local government units, schools, and communities to conduct regular drills and preparedness activities to minimize risks and protect lives during disasters.

Through activities like this, Barangay Basud continues to strengthen coordination, awareness, and readiness of the community in responding to possible earthquakes and other emergencies.

Let us continue working together to build a prepared, resilient, and disaster-ready Barangay Basud.

Please be informed that the voter’s registration scheduled for tomorrow, March 7, 2026, here at our Barangay has been Cancelled.

The activity was supposed to be conducted by the Commission on Elections (COMELEC). Kindly wait for the official announcement and new schedule from the COMELEC San Isidro Office.

[Brgy Basud, San Isidro, Leyte Philippines] – November 3, 2025 – In anticipation of Typhoon "Tino," the Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (BDRRMC) of Barangay Basud convened an emergency meeting today. Headed by the Punong Barangay Hon. Jahnson S. Yap , the BDRRMC has declared a FORCE EVACUATION for all residents of Barangay Basud, effective immediately.

This decision was made based on the latest weather forecasts, indicating that Barangay Basud is highly vulnerable to the typhoon's impact, including potential flooding and landslides.

"The safety of our residents is our top priority," Hon. Jahnson S. Yap .

We urge everyone to cooperate with the evacuation order and move to designated evacuation centers as quickly and safely as possible.
