I am a Civil Union and Independent Marriage Celebrant who is keen to encourage couples to celebrate their relationship in a way that is appropriate for them… The aim of Te Whare Aroha is to assist couples to formalise their relationships in law (either Civil Union or Marriage) while acknowledging and celebrating the unique nature of their love and their union. I have been a Civil Union celebrant s

ince 2005 becoming a Marriage celebrant in 2013 when the the Marriage (Definition of Marriage) Amendment Act 2013 came into effect. I am able to conduct both Civil Union and Marriage ceremonies and will help in any way I can to help you through this process. Your relationship is unique so you should celebrate it in a unique way,
with a ceremony that is relevant to you….. Please feel free to get in touch to discuss your ideas. ROBIN GEE

2020 was a year we will not forget…
Congratulations to all the couples who managed to celebrate their marriages this year, especially those who asked me to be part of their special day.
As a nation we acted quickly and creatively to the challenges that 2020 provided and so did the couples who managed to have their weddings this year despite the challenges they faced. It was an honour to be part of some fantastic, creative and memorable celebrations in 2020.

You will notice there is little facebook action on the Te Whare Aroha page, I make no apologies for this.
Facebook is very template based and Te Whare Aroha aims not to be.
Te Whare Aroha is about celebrating your day your way,
helping you create a ceremony and a celebration of your relationship
that is meaningful and relevant to you.
If you're interested in talking to me about your ceremony please check out my website tewharearoha.com or feel free to email me.

I wish you, your family and friends a happy and safe holiday season
and the best for 2021.

Fantastic images from a beautiful celebration ... Laura & James are a great couple, it was an honour to be part of their special day.

Real magic happens when two people like Laura and James come together with their families and friends to tie the knot. They are such a unique, genuine couple who are perfectly matched, and everything about their day literally sparkled! :)

Some highlights for me were their hand-fasting ceremony, their first dance which was so original, and of course followed by an epic burrito party! :) I also had the pleasure of meeting some wonderfully colourful characters who made the day so vibrant and fun.

Thank you Laura and James for just being YOU! I can't wait to get onto your photos :) x

This month see changes to birth, death, marriage and civil union (BDMCU) fees.
Along with new registration fees for celebrants the Dept of Internal Affairs has announced that....
"Couples should be made aware that the fee will also be changing for marriage/civil union licences and certificates. The couple may be required to pay a different fee than is expected if they apply for their licence or certificate on or after 22 May 2017."
