How Much Aid Can Flood Victims Get from the Government?

Under 'Disaster-Sensitive Social Security and Relief Distribution Guidelines, 2081' flood-affected families may receive different types of government support depending on their situation.

1. EMERGENCY CASH SUPPORT
Families identified as affected and in need may receive cash assistance for basic needs, including temporary shelter and food security.
The support is provided based on the damage and needs assessment.

2. TEMPORARY SHELTER GRANT
If a family's house is completely destroyed or they must move because of danger, they can receive:
Rs. 50,000 per family for temporary housing, paid in 2 installments.

3. HOUSE REPAIR / RETROFITTING
For a disaster-damaged private house, the government can provide up to Rs. 1 lakh for strengthening/retrofitting the house.

4. REBUILDING A DESTROYED HOUSE
For reconstruction and rehabilitation, the grant is:
• Himalayan districts: Rs. 5 lakh
• Kathmandu Valley & Hill districts: Rs. 4 lakh
• Terai & Inner Madhesh: Rs. 3 lakh

5. IMPORTANT TO KNOW
These grants are not automatic for every affected person. They depend on official damage assessment and the required procedure.
Also, double assistance is not allowed where the same support has already been provided by another agency.

What If You Steal During a Disaster?

In times like this, even the smallest help can mean a lot.

Let's do whatever we can from our side, help someone in need, share the right information, support rescue efforts, or simply keep those affected in our prayers.

We're praying for everyone who is still trapped, waiting to be rescued, or desperately hoping to hear from their loved ones.

May they all be brought to safety as soon as possible. For those who lost their lives, may their souls rest in peace, and may God give their families the strength to get through this heartbreaking loss.

We pray for everyone affected by this tragedy and hope Nepal can heal, recover, and stand strong again as soon as possible.

Death Penalty in Nepal?

Under the current framework. Article 16(2) of the Constitution of Nepal prohibits laws imposing the death penalty. Nepal has also joined the Second Optional Protocol to the ICCPR, committing to abolish capital punishment

Further, Section 9 of the Treaty Act, 2047 gives treaty provisions priority when they conflict with Nepalese law. So, Nepal cannot simply bring back the death penalty under the existing legal framework.

Your neighbor won’t let you use your LAND? Do This!!

First, you can submit an application to your Ward Office to try to resolve the dispute. If the issue is not resolved there, you can file a land encroachment case at the District Court. If your neighbor is building a house or there is a possibility of further interference with your land, you can also seek an injunction order from the court.
