Job Title: Operations Manager/Receptionist
Company: Rapid Roost Apartments
Location: Umuahia, Abia State
Reports to: Managing Director/CEO
CANDIDATE MUST RESIDE IN UMUAHIA.
Role Overview
The Operations Manager will be responsible for the seamless daily running of Rapid Roost Apartment. Your primary goal is to maintain 5-star hospitality standards, ensure 100% utility uptime (power/water/internet), manage staff performance, and build relationships with high-profile corporate and government clients to drive occupancy.
Key Responsibilities-
1. Guest Experience & VIP Relations
• Oversee the entire guest journey from booking and check-in to departure.
• Act as the primary point of contact for high-profile delegates (e.g., SPIU consultants, House of Assembly members).
• Handle guest requests, complaints, and special requirements with extreme discretion and professionalism.
2. Facility & Utility Management
• Ensure 24/7 Power Uptime: Manage the rotation of generators, solar systems, and grid power.
• Supervise maintenance of all appliances (ACs, Smart TVs) and plumbing/electrical systems.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to ensure high-speed fiber-optic connectivity is never interrupted.
3. Staff Supervision & Training
• Manage and schedule the housekeeping, security, and maintenance teams.
• Conduct daily inspections of suites to ensure "white-glove" cleanliness standards.
• Train staff on high-end hospitality etiquette and security protocols.
4. Business Development & Marketing
• Identify and pitch to corporate and government bodies in Umuahia (Ministries, Banks, NGOs).
• Manage online listings (Airbnb) and respond to digital inquiries.
• Monitor local competition and suggest pricing strategies to maximize revenue.
5. Financial & Administrative Oversight
• Manage petty cash for daily operational expenses (fuel, cleaning supplies, repairs).
• Ensure all corporate invoicing and VAT-compliant billing is accurate and delivered on time.
• Provide weekly operational reports to the CEO regarding occupancy, expenses, and guest feedback.
Qualifications & Requirements
• Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years in hospitality management (Hotels or Serviced Apartments) or high-end facility management.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Tech Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office, WhatsApp for Business, and property management software.
• Local Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Umuahia business and political landscape.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional communication, "crisis-mode" problem-solving, and an obsessive attention to detail.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Occupancy Rate: Achieving a monthly target of [e.g., 70%+] occupancy.
• Utility Reliability: Zero downtime for Wi-Fi and power during guest stays.
• Guest Reviews: Maintaining a 4.5+ star rating on all platforms.
• Staff Retention: Low turnover through effective leadership and scheduling.
