Unfortunately a Tenant – NHF (conclu.)

After reading this, as well as the 1st and 2nd episodes; and you don’t intend to take grab this chance. The only thing you’ll get is, sum of the monthly token with 2% interest, after you’ve attained 60 years or 35 years of service.

But for those who’re vigilant; with your stable employment or self-employment that guarantees regular flow of income. Ensure that you’ve contributed for a minimum of six months, then carry-go! Approach any duly licensed Mortgage Institution; they’ll guide and work with you till you get your money/ house.

Though you’re only entitled to one loan in your lifetime, you can get up to N15m (or more on Institution’s discretion), as long as your monthly repayment is not more that 33% of your monthly salary. Note, the maximum charge by the Institution is 0.5% which covers legal, survey and administrative cost.
Lest I forget, you can build, buy, or renovate your chosen property that is located anywhere within Nigeria.

Unfortunately a Tenant – NHF (cont.)

Whether you ask yourself “why haven’t I explore NHF before now” or you’re still struggling with the spirit of Thomas. It’s good to know that there’s still a chance for you to own a house without having to wait for several years.

These are what you can achieve through the NHF deductions you make every month:
 Build a new residential structure on piece of land
 Outright purchasing of existing residential building/ apartment
 Renovate a residential accommodation
In the case of an out-right purchase, payment will be made in lump-sum; while in the case of a building under construction, improvement of restructuring, the loan disbursement will be made based on a schedule earlier agreed before loan approval.

When you’ve decided on which of the three options above to pursue, and established the associated cost. Then accept my congrats in advance, as you can get funding for as much as 90% of the value of the property, renovation, or building a new structure. And the least amount you can get/ apply for is N500,000, for as long as 25 years.

Nothing is working in the country; some people say. Unconsciously, they derail others from taking their chances. Cracks, I agree, but not everything is broken in Nigeria.

You realize there’s a certain deduction from your salary which you overlook, and it goes to NHF (National Housing Fund). Many feels it’s just a token, so why bother. Hmm! that token is like a catalyst to owning your house, earlier than you anticipated.

See what you’re taking for granted; I mean what NHF aims to do for you.
 Facilitate the mobilization of the Fund for the provision of houses for Nigerians at affordable prices.
 Ensure the constant supply of loans to Nigerians for the purpose of building, purchasing and improvement of residential houses.
 Provide incentives for the capital market to invest in property development.
 Encourage the development of specific programmes that would ensure effective financing of housing development, in particular low cost housing for low income workers.
 Provide proper policy control over the allocation of resources and funds between the housing sector and other sectors of the Nigerian economy.
 Provide long-term loans to mortgage institutions for on-lending to contributors to the Fund.
