PAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION, JEP-JAN DISTRICT CRY FOR HELP AS KIDNAPPING AND BANDITRY ACTIVITIES ESCALATE IN SOME VILLAGES.
The incessant kidnapping and banditry activities in some villages of Namu(Jep-jan) District, Quaan-Pan LGA of Plateau State are indeed alarming and deserving of urgent attention. These heinous crimes have become a persistent threat to the safety and well-being of our people.
Despite repeated pleas to the authorities, the situation continues to deteriorate. As community, we are witnessing the devastating impact of these heinous crimes on our families, friends, and neighbors. We can not longer remain silent!
THE SITUATION:
i. Kidnappings and banditry attacks have become a daily occurrence in our villages.
ii. Innocent lives are being lost , and many more are being held captive by these ruthless criminals.
iii. Our people are living in constant fear, unable to go about their daily lives without worrying about their safety.
iv. The economic and social fabric of our communities is being severely impacted.
OUR DEMANDS:
1. Enhance security measures: increase security presence in the affected villages and implement effective strategies to prevent and respond to kidnapping and banditry incidents.
2. Address root causes: Identify and address the underlying factors contributing to these crimes, such as poverty, unemployment, and social inequality.
3. Support affected communities: providing adequate support and resources to communities affected by kidnapping and banditry, including economic empowerment programs,and infrastructure development.
We appeal to all well-meaning individuals and organizations to join us in condemning these crimes and demanding actions from our leaders.
Together, we can make a difference and bring peace and security back to our communities.
