MANAGING PARTNER APPOINTMENT

We are pleased to announce that, with effect from 3 July 2026, Desmond Orisewezie formally assumed office as the Managing Partner of Vanceford Solicitors & Advocates (a limited partnership).

In this role, Desmond will provide strategic leadership to the consolidated firm and drive its sustained growth, institutional development and continued commitment to delivering exceptional legal services. His appointment follows Vanceford’s recent acquisition of Orits & Partners, a law firm with almost two decades of distinguished legal service.

Over the course of his eight-year legal career, Desmond has trained and practised under the supervision of three Senior Advocates of Nigeria. His practice focuses mainly on Corporate and Commercial Law, Dispute Resolution and International Law.

He holds a Master of Laws in International Law from the United Kingdom and has served on the boards of companies, worked with foreign governmental institutions, and advised individuals, corporate organisations, Nigerian governmental bodies and multilateral institutions.

His appointment reflects Vanceford’s commitment to building a modern, forward-looking and broad-based legal practice with strong local expertise and a cross-border perspective, founded on excellence, integrity and client-focused service.

This transition brings that experience and institutional heritage together with Vanceford's modern, strategic and forward-looking approach to legal practice.

The name Vanceford, coined from the expression "advancing forward," reflects the firm's ambition to set a new standard for legal-service delivery through innovation, responsiveness, strategic thinking and uncompromising professionalism. With its Head Office strategically located within close proximity to the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos, Vanceford is well positioned to serve local and international clients efficiently.
