A mysterious coincidence. Two great men appeared in one of the NYSC camp photographs unawares but later became God's powerful instruments in a land that Yahweh was set to liberate in those days.

While one man blew the trumpet in Zion the other exalted the Banner of God in the land.

Moreover, everyone who appeared in that photograph became God's generals in the nation.

🔥NCCF KWALE ZONE Online Devotional. (Thur 30 Dec., 2021)🔥

*From everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him. . . . — Psalm 103:17 NIV*

As we move toward the coming new year, we often reflect on the past year. One thing I experience with the passing of each year is that I often look back and wonder, “Where did the time go?”

As we reflect on the past year and the fleeting passage of time, we are reminded that no matter how fast time seems to go by, God is still faithful. As Psalm 103 says, “From everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him.” As quickly as the time comes and goes, there is one thing that never changes: the Lord’s great love for us.

What a comforting thought: God’s love remains with us from “everlasting to everlasting.” That is a really long time, for eternity!
God’s love for us in Jesus Christ never changes.

Thank you, Lord!

*Prayer for the day:*

Dear God, as we come to the end of another year, we thank you for showing us your love “from everlasting to everlasting.” Amen.

*And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host, praising God* . . .
—Luke 2:13

When at this season of the year we wish our friends a “Merry Christmas,” it is essential to realize that true merriment of heart is contingent upon the recognition of the truth that Christ was born in Bethlehem for our salvation. The word “merry” is from an old Anglo-Saxon word which sometimes meant “famous,” “illustrious,” “great,” or “mighty.” Originally, to be merry did not imply to be merely mirthful, but strong and gallant. It was in this sense that gallant soldiers were called “merry men.” Favorable weather was called “merry weather.” Brisk winds were called a “merry gale.” Spenser speaks of London as “merry London.” The word “merry” carries with it the double thought of “might” and “mirth,” and is used both ways in Scripture. One of the early Christmas carols was “God Rest You Merry, Gentlemen.” The Christian is to engage in spiritual merriment as he thinks upon the fact that, through the redemption, he becomes a child of God’s family. The Bible teaches that the angels made merry at Christ’s birth.

Prayer for the day:

Throughout this Christmas period, my heart is indeed merry when I think of Your birth, dear Lord. I rejoice with the angels and praise Your holy name!
