skilled workers through the Express Entry (EE) system.

One main requirement for this category is having at least one
year of skilled work experience.
Today's round of invitations made it the 47th time the
government has sent invitations to apply for PR- across all
categories - through Express Entry in 2024 - a total of 92,621.
The goal of these invitations is to help Canada attract skilled
workers who will fill the void in the country's workforce.
This year, the Canadian government plans to conduct targeted
invitations to candidates in the following occupational groups;
healthcare
VScience, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)
professions
trades, such as carpenters, plumbers and contractors
Vtransport
Agriculture and agri-food
Preference will also be given to candidates who have French
language skills of NCLC 7 &above.
In 2025, Canada will welcome 110,000 new permanent
residents through the Express Entry system, which exceeds
last year's target of 82,880.
Having a Canadian permanent residence status allows a
person to live and work permanently in Canada without the
need for visa renewals or applications.
They also get
government health care coverage and social care benefits
from the first day they enter Canada.
