Today, in the company of my brother governors of the South Eastern States, I welcomed the Vice-President, Senator Kashim Shettima to Enugu State, to flag-off the Light-up Nigeria Project - South East.
Power is so central that once we are able to fix the challenges in that sector, all other sectors will fall into place. So, excited by the prospects of this pivotal Project, which heralds a new dawn for power and industrialisation in the South East, we had a productive interactive Business Roundtable with industrialists at the Old Government Lodge.
This project will foster efficient dispatch of power to the largest consumers through bilateral sales agreements and bring about improved access to subsidised power in our region.
I heartily thank the Federal Government and the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) for this initiative, which will ramp up power supply to industrial clusters in the South East. I also enjoin our industrialists to key-in fully and take advantage of this opportunity.
Many thanks to the Vice-President, H.E Senator Kashim Shettima and my brother governors of the South East States: H.E Gov. Charles Soludo of Anambra State, H.E Gov. Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State and H.E Sen. Hope Uzodinma, Gov. of Imo State and Chairman of the South East Governors’ Forum, for their presence and contributions.
Tomorrow is here!
