Last night, Barinaada Legal was awarded LegalTech and Compliance Innovation Firm of the Year at the Tech Innovation and Recognition Awards by Tech Unite Africa, held at Oriental Hotel, Lagos.
And honestly… this one hits differently.
Because if you’ve followed my journey closely, especially in the latter part of last year, you would know that it wasn’t all wins and applause.
Meta showed us shege pro max.
They took down my personal account.
They took down our main Barinaada Legal Instagram page.
They took down multiple associated accounts.
At some point, we were completely wiped off our primary platforms.
Till today, our Instagram is still down.
While we were dealing with that setback, trying to rebuild, trying to stay visible without our biggest channels something powerful was happening behind the scenes.
Founders, people we’ve worked with, supported, advised were nominating Barinaada Legal for this award.
Unsolicited.
Without any campaign.
Without even our awareness.
I didn’t know about the nomination.
I didn’t canvass for votes.
I didn’t even know the event was happening.
No active social media presence infact (yes, Meta had us in a chokehold 😅).
Yet, we won.
Founders showed up for us.
And for me, this is more than an award.
It is a validation.
Validation that the work speaks.
Validation that impact travels, even in silence.
Validation that when you truly serve people, they remember and they show up for you when it matters.
I am deeply grateful to the startup community for the trust and the love you continue to show Barinaada Legal.
Special thank you to Alexander Iheanacho, for being a constant pillar of support and to my incredible team at BL for your dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence.
This win belongs to all of us.
Cheers to many more wins ahead 🥂
