The Unseen Danger: Trading Time for Treasure in Parenting
In the relentless pursuit to meet society’s expectations and provide for the family’s basic needs, many parents today fall into a dangerous trap. They wake up before dawn, leaving home as early as 5 a.m., and return so late at night that their children barely recognize them. These innocent souls are left in the hands of teachers whose beliefs and moral standards are often unknown, and maids or servants who, in many cases, are more interested in what they can gain than in nurturing these young lives. Without realizing it, parents are handing their children over to strangers, leaving them vulnerable to the wolves and hirelings of this world.
We find ourselves in a time when many parents believe that the best they can do for their children is to provide food, money, shelter, and an abundance of material things—things that cannot withstand the test of time. They assume these provisions are enough, forgetting the irreplaceable value of presence, guidance, and love. This belief is a lie, a subtle deceit from the pit of hell.
Take the time to truly understand your child’s thoughts, beliefs, and dreams. In today’s world, where celebrities and influencers—many of whom do more harm than good—are shaping our children’s minds, it is crucial to be vigilant. Without your presence and guidance, your child might seek advice from classmates or so-called friends who harbor envy and malice toward them. Imagine the danger of a child confiding in someone who secretly resents them, trusting them with decisions that will shape their destiny.
This is not the time to eat, drink, and laugh while neglecting the soul of your child. It is time to pause, to prioritize, to take days off work if necessary, to sit down and have real conversations with your children. Nurture their hearts, cherish their innocence, and impart the moral values and principles that our own fathers instilled in us.
Remember the ancient wisdom:
"Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it."
Your time and presence today are the seeds of a strong, grounded, and fulfilled future for your child. Do not trade it
