To the God of My Journey in FUTA.

I honestly do not know how best to appreciate God for my journey through FUTA.

Looking back, I can only say, “Ebenezer—thus far the Lord has helped me.”

The journey was not without its challenges. The financial burden, academic demands, unexpected situations, and many moments that tested my faith were not easy. But through it all, God kept showing up for me.

Sometimes He showed up miraculously, and at other times, He showed up through men. People who supported me, encouraged me, patronized my work, referred customers to me, or simply made things a little easier along the way. I am deeply grateful.

One of the biggest ways God sustained me in FUTA was through shoemaking.

It was never just a side hustle to me. It became one of the channels through which God met my needs. Every pair made, every customer served, every referral received, and every opportunity that came through the business became part of my story of God's provision.

So, to every customer and client who has patronized Josh Footwear, recommended us to someone, trusted us with your footwear, or supported the brand in any way—thank you. Your patronage was more significant than you may have realized.

Above all, I return all the glory to the only wise God, who kept me, provided for me, strengthened me, and brought me this far.

DON'T RELATE WITH PEOPLE BASED ON
OTHERS PERSPECTIVE

Throwing back to when I was searching for a tutor in shoemaking, I had been looking for someone who could teach me certain things, and all my efforts were abortive because I couldn't find someone who didn't request a huge amount of money that I couldn't afford. The person I found wasn't interested in taking a student either. One thing led to another, and a brother of mine introduced me to a brother who introduced me to a lady who happened to be a shoemaker.

Having conversations with the lady, I wasn't able to pay for the training due to financial constraints (I didn't have up to what she demanded), so I begged and pleaded, and thank God she reached out to me, and we agreed on the training days and all. The major issues or challenges came in. Growing up, I had several complaints from apprentices learning from ladies about how they are not considerate, how they don't care, and can sometimes be too bossy and controlling.

This was a nightmare for me in the early days of the training, as I was trying to figure out how I would be able to relate well with her and have a wonderful time during the course. But to my surprise, my trainer happened to be the nicest person in the world; I even found it easy to relate to her more than several other men I had served under earlier on. The takeaway from this story is to ensure you don't relate with others based on people's opinions about them; always have a firsthand experience with everyone before coming to a conclusion about them.

And most times, people talk about the faults of others without pointing out their own errors and misdeeds. I just want to take a few moments to appreciate Jolashoe for being a wonderful person and let you know that you're truly cherished by me, and you changed my perspective about ladies.
