It was a truly delightful evening at the Selangor Club, celebrating YB Teresa’s birthday in the warm company of my former pupils, Clara and Sydney, esteemed colleagues at the Bar, Wong and Elyse, and my Cardiff collegemates, Selina Chean and Dr. Floreen, a gathering filled with camaraderie, fond memories, and genuine joy.

I thoroughly enjoyed the authentic Keralan cuisine served here in Johor Bahru. The flavours were rich, traditional, and beautifully executed. Kudos to Dr. Jyothi, the industrious owner who hails from Kochi, for bringing such a genuine taste of Kerala to this city. Highly recommended for anyone craving true South Indian Kerala cuisine!

30 Years at the Bar (1996–2026)

This year marks my 30th year in legal practice. I truly appreciate and sincerely thank everyone for the many kind wishes conveyed to me on LinkedIn.

I was admitted as an Advocate & Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 22 March 1996. Three decades later, I remain deeply grateful for the privilege of practising law in Malaysia.

Over the years, I have had the honour of building and leading S N Nair & Partners, focusing on corporate and commercial litigation, insurance disputes, tort and defamation matters, and complex civil proceedings. The practice of law has evolved significantly since 1996 in jurisprudence, governance, technology, and public accountability, yet the core principles remain unchanged: integrity, independence, preparation, and courage.

The profession has tested resilience and demanded constant learning. It has also provided the opportunity to stand firm for clients in challenging moments, to advocate in matters of public interest, and to contribute meaningfully to the legal and civic landscape.

I am grateful to clients who placed their trust in me, to colleagues and mentors who shaped my professional journey, and to the next generation of lawyers who will carry the Bar forward.

Thirty years on, my commitment remains the same.

The journey continues, so long as my body and soul permits.
