👉 These are the words many domestic workers say when leaving employment, whether they resign or are dismissed.

⚠️ KOMA FUNSO NDI LOKUTI:

👉 Kodi pochoka amayenera kupatsidwa chani?

👉 Kodi employer ayenera kutsatira njira yotani pothetsa ntchito?

⚖️ PROCEDURE (NJIRA YOYENERA)

Even for a domestic worker:

✔ Ayenera kufotokozeredwa zolakwa (if misconduct)
✔ Ayenera kupatsidwa mwayi woyankha (hearing)
✔ Decision siyenera kukhala yokonzedwa kale
✔ Dismissal iyenera kukhala chiganizo chomaliza, not first option

👉 No process = Unfair dismissal

⚖️ SUBSTANCE (CHIFUKWA CHOYENERA)

Employer ayenera kukhala ndi:

✔ Reason yomveka bwino
✔ Umboni (evidence)
✔ Decision yogwirizana ndi zolakwa

👉 Not every mistake deserves dismissal

💰 WHAT IS HE/SHE ENTITLED TO?

At minimum:

✔ Salary mpaka tsiku lomaliza
✔ Notice or pay in lieu of notice
✔ Leave pay (if not taken)

❗ IMPORTANT:

👉 Gratuity → (Malipiro a kumapeto kwa ntchito, Amaperekedwa ngati palibe penshoni )

👉 Overtime → if she worked extra and was not paid

💬 REALITY IN MALAWI

Many domestic workers:
❌ Amachotsedwa mwadzidzidzi
❌ Salipidwa zonse
❌ Sadziwa ufulu wawo

Ndipo ma employers ambiri:
❌ Satsatira njira yoyenera
❌ Amafika ku Labour Office or ku court osakonzeka

Before you dismiss a domestic worker…

👉 Follow the correct procedure
👉 Have a valid reason
👉 Pay what is due

So that:
👉 Ngati nkhani ikafika ku Labour Office kapena ku Court
👉 Mukhale cleared
