Moments like this always remind me of something bigger:

Travel has a way of stretching you beyond the limits fear tries to place on your life.

It pulls you out of routines, out of comfort zones, and reminds you how much more exists beyond the small world we sometimes create for ourselves.

So many people are waiting for the “perfect time” to travel, start over, try something new, leave the wrong relationship, move cities, change careers…

Meanwhile life keeps moving.

I really believe God didn’t put us here just to survive routines and postpone joy forever.

Go see things.
Go experience life.
Go remind yourself how small your fears actually are compared to how big this world is.

Because the more you explore, the more you realize life was never meant to be lived from the sidelines.

Standing next to this sign today felt bigger than real estate for me.

Because starting over in a new country is a strange thing.

You leave behind familiarity, people, comfort, and sometimes even the version of yourself you used to be. Then slowly—through courage, awkward moments, hard work, faith, and a lot of figuring things out—you build again.

And one day you look around and realize:
…you actually did it.

Not perfectly.
Not all at once.
But step by step.

So this post is for anyone who feels behind, lost, too old to start over, or unsure whether they’re capable of building a new life.

You are.

A new career.
A new city.
A new relationship.
A new dream.

It’s all possible.

A girl from Kenya standing in front of her real estate listing in Washington State probably sounds random… but here we are 😄

Life is wild like that.

If you’ve been showing up, putting in the effort, staying consistent, and still not seeing results… you’re not alone.

Some weeks test you more than others.

This is one of those messages I needed for myself too.

If you’re in that space right now, watch this.

And if it resonates, drop a “still going” in the comments.

Watching that ship pass by, I couldn’t help but think about life.

What moves a ship forward isn’t the wake behind it.
It’s not the water it already cut through.
It’s not what’s trailing in the past.

It’s the power from within — the engine pushing it forward.

And honestly… we’re not that different.

A lot of people spend years letting their past define their future.
Old mistakes. Old pain. Old disappointments. Old versions of themselves.

But your past is like the wake behind the ship.

It may be visible.
It may remind you where you’ve been.
But it has no power to move your life forward.

The only thing that can truly move you forward is what’s happening inside you right now:
your mindset, your choices, your faith, your discipline, your willingness to keep going.

So if you’ve been carrying something from the past, here’s your reminder:

✨ What’s behind you does not have to power what’s ahead of you.

The wake is behind the ship for a reason.

What’s one thing you’ve had to leave behind in order to move forward?

I love real estate because the right conversation can change the way someone makes one of the biggest decisions of their life.

Last week, I had the chance to sit down with Chad Sessions, CEO of Windermere Real Estate, and ask him 12 questions about buying, selling, and navigating today’s market.

And honestly… this is the kind of conversation I wish more people could hear before they make a move.

Because behind every sale or purchase is a family, a dream, a next chapter, a financial decision — and sometimes a lot of uncertainty.

That’s why I wanted this interview to be about more than just “the market.”
I wanted it to be useful. Honest. Grounded.

If you’re thinking about buying, selling, or simply want a better understanding of what’s happening in real estate right now, I think you’ll really appreciate this one.

🎥 I’ll put the video link in the comments below.

If you watch it, I’d genuinely love to know what stood out to you most.

STOP scrolling homes for a second…

If you’re planning to buy, this might be the most important 60 seconds you watch today.

Most buyers start looking at houses first…
And that’s exactly where they go wrong.

Before you book a showing, watch this.

It could save you time, money — and a whole lot of stress.

Some homes look good in photos.
Some feel good when you walk through them.

This one does both.

I filmed a full 6-minute walkthrough of 1604 Tara Ct in Kelso so you can experience how the space actually flows — from the living areas to the private bedrooms and everything in between.

If you’ve been waiting for a home with over 3,100 sq ft, 4 bedrooms, and room to truly spread out… this might be the one.

Investing in our community goes beyond real estate.

Through Windermere Northwest Living, we’re awarding a $2,000 scholarship to a Washington State student pursuing college, university, or trade school in 2026.

If you’re a graduating senior in Cowlitz County — or know one — applications are open until May 1st, 2026.

I’m proud to be part of a company that believes in building strong communities for the long term.

I didn’t realize how much moving from Kenya to Washington would stretch me.

Not just logistically.
Not just culturally.
But internally.

Some lessons were uncomfortable.
Some were humbling.
And a few completely changed how I see life here in the U.S.

I just shared a video about what this move really taught me.

Search “Jacqui Mwangi What Moving from Kenya to Washington Taught Me” on YouTube and watch it there.

If you’ve ever started over in a new place, I think you’ll relate.
