DEMERITS of a business name

1. Sole proprietorship /partnerships use the individual proprietors’ pin when engaging in any business activity- this means that in any case, the business runs into any tax issues with KRA, then the individual(s) (the owner(s) will have their pin in problems)
2. In Business Name, the Individuals have their names and other details printed on the face of the certificate- this may somewhat expose the proprietor(s)a lot especially where businesses of high stakes are involved
3. In cases of death, bankruptcy, or disagreement amongst the partners, then the business stands Closed.

Limited company

Limited companies are their own entity. The firm’s finances are completely separate from the personal finances of the owners, and the company is taxed separately. Limited companies have their own KRA pins and the Tax Compliance certificate. Single directorship is allowed in Kenya
