On 10th February 2026, I will be delivering a Mediation Masterclass: From Conflict to Resolution at Riara University, hosted by Riara Law School.

I will be unpacking:
– How real conflicts actually escalate
– Why litigation often fails parties even when you “win”
– What effective mediators do differently in high-stakes disputes

For young lawyers, advocates & mediators who believe dispute resolution is a skill, not a slogan.

At Karl Mediation & Arbitration Centre, we are deliberate about one thing:
Building Kenya’s future mediation and arbitration talent pipeline.

Last year alone, five law schools benefited from our competitive mediation and arbitration scholarship opportunities extended to LLB students and Advocate Trainees — opening doors for high-potential young professionals to enter the ADR space early and seriously.

This year, we are taking it a step further.

We will award one outstanding law student nationally a fully funded one-year academic (tuition) scholarship at their institution, alongside:

• Structured mentorship
• Internship placement opportunities
• Mediation training & accreditation support
• Professional exposure within the ADR ecosystem

This is part of our intentional investment in excellence.

Because the future of dispute resolution in Kenya will be shaped by the institutions bold enough to nurture talent early — and we are proud to be one of them.

Instead of courtroom battles and family feuds, dialogue took center stage during the Mediation Open Day – Chuka University, led by Karl Mediation in partnership with the Chuka University School of Law. Students, judiciary officers and community members came together to explore how conversations — not confrontations — can resolve family, succession, land, and community disputes while preserving relationships.

The day featured engaging panel discussions and interactive sessions, Youth leaders and Karl Mediation alumni emphasized how young people can strengthen a culture of peace, harmony, and collaboration.

To crown the day, a friendly football match between the Karl Mediation team and the University School of Law team ended in a spirited draw — a reminder that teamwork and fair play echo the very heart of mediation.

Karl Mediation remains committed to transforming communities through dialogue, education, and accessible dispute-resolution pathways. Peace truly begins with conversation.

What an evening!

The Embu Business Owners Association Dinner Gala at Mavvel Hotel, Embu on 16th October 2025 turned into a powerful conversation about the future of ADR in Kenya’s private sector.

As a proud sponsor, Karl Mediation led an engaging session on Private Mediation — unpacking how businesses can resolve conflicts faster, preserve partnerships, and save costs while maintaining confidentiality.

The response was overwhelming. Many attendees reached out right at the event, eager to explore how their matters could be referred to private mediation.

We left the room energized, reminded that the demand for peaceful, practical solutions in business is stronger than ever.

To everyone who joined us — thank you for your curiosity, insights, and partnership. Together, we’re building a culture of collaboration over confrontation.

Strengthening Our Mediation Community

Yesterday, the Karl Mediation Center team had the pleasure of meeting with our dedicated mediators from Embu for a focused prep session ahead of their upcoming Court Annexed Mediation interviews starting next week.

We’re proud to walk alongside them on this journey — equipping and cheering them on as they take the next step in their mediation careers.

Three days on the coast.
One ocean as our witness.
A journey that began with conversation and ended where the sun melts into the sea.

Day 1 — We met by the water’s edge, warmed by asamptuous breakfast and conversation, diving deep into female health & wellness. Myths dissolved, truths rose, and we spoke openly of reproductive health, menopause, and the quiet courage of self-care.

Day 2 — The tide slowed our breathing. We named secondary trauma, embraced mindfulness, learned the art of setting boundaries, and imagined a profession where mediators’ mental health is woven into the fabric of our institutions.

Day 3 — We didn’t just close; we sailed. Reflections & connections took us onto a sunset yacht cruise, bathed in fun, the air thick with salt and laughter, the horizon reminding us there is always more to explore.

To our Karl Mediation alumni — thank you for showing up with open hearts.
To you reading this — the next retreat is calling, and the tide waits for no one.

This morning, the beach became our classroom, and the lesson was clear: mediators need care too.

Key Takeaways:
• Secondary trauma is real — and it’s okay to name it.
• Boundaries aren’t selfish; they’re survival tools.
• Mindfulness is more than meditation — it’s how we breathe between cases.
• Stress relief is a skill, not a luxury.
• Mental health for mediators should be institutionalized, not optional.

As waves washed the shore, we reminded ourselves: a well mediator is a better mediator.

Saturday Slow Mornings Hit Different… When You're Seated Beachfront, Breaking Bread, and Talking About the Bodies That Carry Us Through It All.

We kicked off the with sea breeze, a samptuous breakfast, and an eye-opening expert session on female health and wellness — especially the often-unspoken truths of reproductive health, contraceptives, menopauseandeverything gaenacolohical.

Key Takeaways That Stirred the Table:

• Myths we still hold about contraceptives — and how they quietly shape choices.
• Spotting the early signs of cervical cancer — because early detection saves lives.
• Owning the conversation around menopause — with grace, clarity, and no shame.
• Why reproductive health is mental health —
especially for mediators holding space for others.

As the sun rose, so did our awareness.

To our beloved alumni: let this be your reminder — you can’t pour from an empty cup. Mediation is a helping profession, yes, but we are allowed to pause, reflect, and heal too.

Stay connected. Stay curious. Stay well.
Your wellness is part of your professional power.

Stepping Into Justice: Welcoming Nairobi’s New Mediators!

Last Friday, Karl Mediation proudly certified new mediators — a powerful addition to Kenya’s growing movement for peaceful, dialogue-driven conflict resolution.

To celebrate, the new cohort visited the Mediation Secretariat at Milimani Law Courts for:
-A guided tour of the mediation suite

-Insight into the Judiciary’s expectations and real-world challenges

-A deep dive into the role of the Secretariat in court-annexed mediation

We are thrilled to welcome these changemakers to the Karl Mediation family. Together, we’re building a future where mediation is the first resort, not the last.

"Wine opens hearts; mediation opens minds. Together, they make peace a little more palatable." 🍷✨

After acing their oral exams and officially becoming Certified Professional Mediators, this dynamic group of HR leaders raised a well-deserved toast to new beginnings, bold conversations, and a thriving future in mediation.

In an intimate wine tasting hosted by Karl Mediation, we celebrated not just certification — but sisterhood, strength, and the power of dialogue.

Between sips and stories, we opened up about the real challenges in the human resources field — and how mediation offers a path to resolution, clarity, and confidence.

Here's to women who lead with wisdom, listen with intent, and build workplaces that work. 🥂
