Today is a historic day in our country's calender. It is the day we reflect the far we have come from as a nation, taking into account the compromises we have had for the sake of unity and counting a number of opportunities that have come our way and those still in the pipeline.

Today I took an oath to serve the public deligently and with utmost good faith in my position as the County Attorney. In my speech I mentioned that the Kisumu Office of the County Attorney is going to be geared towards rooting out Corruption within the county government offices. Corruption has been a menace that we have to put off by all means.

I thank the Governor, Kisumu County, Prof Anyang and Gesora J, the Chief Margistrate Kisumu for gracing the occasion. Much thanks to my family and everyone who came to witness this historic moment.

Edris O., County Attorney, Kisumu County.

The question at hand is whether the ruling was made out of convenience other than progressive realization of our common aspirations as Kenyans being both protection of our primary and secondary rights.
The Kenyan story in deciphering electoral violence has been a history of hope brokered by prominent and eminent personalities like the late Kofi Annan and Benjamin Mkapa, lest we forget.
In fact, the High Court judges through their obiter dicta and in passing recognised that the Kenya National Dialogue and Reconciliation Team (KNDR) in 2008, identified the need to have Constitutional reform as a panacea to resolve electoral conflicts in Kenya and as part of what was then referred to as Agenda Four. The Kenyan Constitution is a living document, its heart beat is felt from Nginyang in West Pokot to the far flanged areas of Osewre in West Seme, protecting every single Kenyan in our society. The judges failed in realizing this reality even as they attempted to exegesis the doctrine of basic structure as the zenith of their determination.
The Attorney General should therefore embrace the doctrine of basic structure as a necessary Constitutional reality but fault the retrogressive determination by the judges...
