Japan’s Immigration Services Agency has tightened the investigation process regarding the residence permission (的 在) “ 企業内転勤” (transferring within the company) given to foreign employees who are currently working in the company to branch/office.
Now, according to the new rule, it has been arranged to mandatory submit government documents that can prove the actual working condition of foreign employees (work history) before coming to Japan. The decision was taken under the overall policy of "do not allow to engage in work that is not according to qualification". The residence permit checking process has been tougher lately.
According to the Department of Migration, the following documents will be required when checking the " 企業内転勤" in the new system implemented from April 1:
*Proof of being involved in social insurance abroad
* Documents related to foreign company registration (corporate registration)
*Tax paid details (tax records)
Earlier, only employment certificate would have been enough. However, the new system has been implemented as it will be difficult to prove the actual working conditions abroad.
Till the end of last year, the number of foreigners living in Japan on " 企業内転勤" visa has been around 19 thousand.
“This step is essential to ensure proper investigation that foreigners with unfair purpose do not misuse this visa, according to an official in the Migration Department.
