IMPORTANT RULING | ALLAHABAD HIGH COURT:
Reinforcing the constitutional guarantee of personal liberty under Article 21, the Allahabad High Court has held that a person detained under preventive provisions of the BNSS/CrPC should ordinarily be released upon ex*****on of a personal bond.

The Court further directed that where a person is illegally detained beyond the permissible period without lawful justification, compensation of ₹25,000 per day shall be payable by the State, with recovery from the responsible officials after due inquiry.
