STATE TO EXPAND ONLINE E-REGISTRATION FACILITY FOR REGISTRATION OF SALE DEEDS / AGREEMENT TO SELL

Builders/Developers will be issued License to e-Register deeds or agreements Online for the newly constructed units sold in their real estate projects. The Facility shall ONLY benefit the citizens who are executing Deed or Agreement for buying NEW premises in projects of such builder / developer and the same is NOT APPLICABLE to RE-SALE or any subsequent sale transactions.

Mumbai: Vide a Circular dated 27th April, 2020, the Govt. of Maharashtra through Inspector General of Registration and Controller of Stamps, Pune has recently announced that the Online e-Registration facility which is presently been used for registering Leave and License Agreements in State shall be extended to enable registration of Sale Deeds / Agreements executed by Builders / Developers for the newly constructed premises in their respective real estate projects.

Builders / Developers, interested to avail the facility, can apply to the appropriate Joint District Registrar (JDR) having jurisdiction in which the real estate project is situated.

The detailed process including eligibility criteria, procedure and other terms and conditions to avail the Facility of Online e-Registration of the Sale Deed/ Agreements by builders / developers is more particularly described in the Circular (attached herewith) hardcopy available on request.

SWEARING-IN CEREMONY OF NEW CHIEF JUSTICE, BOMBAY HIGH COURT
TO BE HELD TOMORROW

Mumbai: In furtherance to his recent appointment as the Chief Justice of Bombay High Court, Shri Dipankar Datta is all set to sworn-in at the small ceremony arranged on 28th April, 2020 at 5:00 pm in Rajbhavan’s Banquet Hall amid Lockdown 2.0 imposed due to global spread of pandemic Covid19. It is, however, clarified by the state chief secretary that all norms of Lockdown and social distancing as are in place in the state shall be strictly followed in the ceremony.

Being a low-profile event, the swearing-in ceremony will be attended by very small number of guests of less than 35 attendees including Governor- Shri Bhagat Singh Koshyari, CM – Uddhav Thackeray, Leader of Opposition Shri Devendra Fadnavis, the newly appointed CJ’s wife and sons.

The newly appointed Chief Justice, Bombay High Court - Shri Dipankar Dutta is from Calcutta High Court. He belongs to a Bengali family having strong legal background. His father Late. Shri Salil Kumar Datta, was a former Judge of the High Court at Calcutta. His brother-in-law Justice Amitava Roy, is a former Judge of the Hon. Supreme Court of India.

Dy. Secretary, Maharashtra Government today on 28-03-2020 has passed an order announcing "reduction in payment of stamp duty" on instruments to be registered by 1% for the period of 2 years" within municipal corporation limits of Mumbai (including MMRDA regions i.e. suburbs), Pimpri-Chinchwad, Pune and Nagpur only viz. the areas where 1% metro cess was recently added n collected.

The reduction will come into effect W.E.F 1st April to 2020 vide seperate order/notification, if required in that regard.
