1st NUSRL Legal Aid Fest National University of Study and Research In Law, Ranchi is organising its maiden edition of National Legal Aid Fest on the 2nd and 3rd May 2015.

Centre for Legal Aid Programme is an organ of the National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi with the Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor as the Patron-in-Chief. To realise the constitutional mandate of rendering legal aid to every person in need is the core of the purposive existence of this centre. Action and awareness are the cornerstones of the centre’s two fold belief in legal aid. Street p

lay, seminar, workshops and camps are the tools used by us to spread awareness and free legal assistance is provided to the needful. ACTIVITIES AND ASPIRATIONS

RTI on different government bodies.

· Monograph writing on street vendors.

· Camps at various locations of Jharkhand.

· Legal Awareness street plays-Nukkad



To Develop a state wide network of institutions and academia. To Organize a nation level experience sharing platform-cum-seminar on legal aid. It will help us to inculcate new methods and identifying diverged areas for rendering legal aid. National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi is organising its maiden edition of national legal aid fest on the 2nd and 3rd May 2015. It is NUSRL’s Centre for Legal Aid Programme’s (CLAP) maiden venture to organise, this, one of its kind event in the country. The event purports to give all educational institutions, NGOs and other organisations that are doing work in the arena of legal aid an opportunity to interact, share their experience, adopt and learn each other’s practices.

Legal Debate for school students is in full flow. 13 teams have been registered from the best schools of the town. The motion is- 'Ban Banning'. The jury consists of Dr. K. Syamala, Ms. Arpita Ghosh and Dr. Arbindaa Sahoo.

The inaugural ceremony of 1st NUSRL Legal Aid Fest is in progress. The Chief Guests for the event are Mr.Aditya Swarup, CIC Jharkhand, Dr. Amool Ranjan Singh, Director RINPAS and B.C.Nirmal, Hon'ble Vice Chancellor NUSRL, Ranchi.

With this we start the event which is spread over the next three days. The event is supported by UNICEF and JHALSA.

1st NUSRL Legal Aid Fest is glad to announce, a debate competition only for the young brains of the schools on current burning social issues. The topics will be concerned with society and will also include legal aspect of such issues. This debate shall help to spread the legal awareness as well as curiosity in the minds of the school going children so that the Law of the land is uprooted in their thinking from an early stage.
